Artist's Description

The concept for my collection Revisiting the Classics started when I showed this model a picture of Edward Weston’s "Nude 1936." She looked at the picture, assumed the pose, then went on to create hundred’s of variations with a new pose every 10 seconds with me clicking the shutter as quickly as I could.

She is by far one of the most creative artists I have worked with. I became hooked on working with professional models to explore poses from the classics.

About Don McCunn

Don McCunn

I am a photographer/costumer raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hold a BS in theatre from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA in theatre from UCSB. For me photography is theatre at 1/60th of a second. It gives me particular pleasure to work with talented models to create original imagery inspired by fine art that has been enjoyed for centuries.
